PRINCIPAL'S PROFILE

Mr. M P Yadav, Principal of DPS, Bhilai is a veteran educationist with thirty three years of rich and varied experience behind him in this field.  Having the educational qualifications of B.A. (Hons.) in English from Punjab University, M.A. (Geog.) from A.M.U., B.Ed. (C.I.E.) & LL.B. from University of Delhi – he started his teaching career at Cambridge School, New Delhi.  After teaching Geography in Secondary classes for three years, he moved on to St. Paul’s School, Darjeeling, where he contributed his might for thirteen years. He held the post of Senior Resident House Master for five years. His administrative experience as the head of an institution spans 17   years, first two years as  the Principal of DPS, Vindhya Nagar and 15 years in the same post at DPS, Bhilai.

Besides being outstanding in academics, he has participated in NCC, NSS, Scouting, On the Spot Essay Competition, Literary and Geographic Quizzes, Debating and Declamation Contests, both at the school and college levels.  He has a great love for games and sports, his favourites being Hockey, Badminton and Billiards.

Under his dynamic leadership, DPS Bhilai has progressed by leaps and bounds and achieved extraordinarily, not only in the field of academics and co-curricular activities but also in the sphere of infrastructural facilities.  Many developmental projects have been taken up and executed successfully under his stewardship.

He attended the 3rd International Education Conference at University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA from 15-20th April, 1997 and many conferences in the country and is a life member of World Council for Curriculum & Instruction (WCCI),  College of Education, University of Cincinnati, Ohio (U.S.A.), Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad.  He is an Alumni of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and Member – National Progressive Schools’ Conference, New Delhi.

He has to his credit many awards for his dedicated and selfless service in the field of quality education and was conferred with the most coveted CBSE Award To Teachers For The Year 2005 & National Award to Teachers 2009 and under his able guidance the school received “1st Computer Literacy Excellence Awards for Schools 2002” instituted by the Union Ministry of Communications and Information Technology – carrying one lac cash award and a silver trophy. He has also been awarded with the prestigious “Rajya Shikshak Samman Smriti Puraskar 2011” by His Excellency Shri Shekhar Dutt, Hon’ble Governor of Chhattisgarh.
